In the off-highway industry, quality is everything.
A mistake measuring one thousandth of an inch can mean the difference between a part working like it’s supposed to – or failing.
“Most of the parts we manufacture, we use in house,” says Joel Gorden, an engineer at Centranz. “We make sure that every part meets OEM specifications.”
Such an attention to quality is one reason why Centranz is the exclusive parts supplier for a host of large companies spread across the globe.
“Centranz repeatedly delivers parts that are manufactured with quality and precision that exceed expectations,” says Matt R., a hardware engineer who regularly buys parts from Centranz. “Their precision, especially when compared to competitors, has allowed Centranz to win exclusive-supplier rights on a number of our parts.”
Centranz’s process to manufacturing the perfect part begins with an engineering blueprint and a 3D CAD model.
Centranz then runs what it refers to as a “first article” to make sure every dimension on the original part is correct.
“Their precision, especially when compared to competitors, has allowed Centranz to win exclusive-supplier rights on a number of our parts.”

Next, during the manufacturing stage, Centranz performs a lot of interim checks, especially on the part’s critical dimensions, which are surfaces that come into contact with other components.
“We’re always verifying that the process is in control,” Gorden says. “Our checks are always the same, regardless of who’s doing it.”
Lastly, Centranz completes a final verification, using a coordinate-measuring machine (CMM), and visual inspection to ensure the part is “burr free” or without sharp edges or any small metal particles. The parts are individually wrapped and packaged to avoid damage.
“There are plenty of shops with one or two guys who might get comfortable and not check the parts thoroughly,” Gorden says. “That’s not how we do things at Centranz.”
