Centranz has redesigned the K3 clutch backing plate for maximum endurance. The K3 clutch backing plate, which fits Volvo A35E, A40E, A35F and A40F model articulated haulers.
“One of the main transmission failures that we see with A35E, A40E, A35F and A40F models is the K3 clutch backing plate shattering into pieces,” said Mike Cullen, Centranz shop supervisor.
Compared to Volvo OEM, the plate redesigned by Centranz is thicker and comprised of billet steel instead of a casting. Contrary to casting, billet parts are created by removing excess material from the billet. Essentially, Centranz’s part is carved out of solid steel, assuring greater structural strength.
“The advantages of billet over casting are significant,” said Rick Hahne, Centranz manufacturing supervisor.
Centranz’s K3 clutch backing plate replaces the following part numbers: 15193748, 15066409 and 17211567.
